WHAT WE BELIEVE

OUR STATEMENT OF FAITH

“Keep a close watch on yourself and on the teaching. Persist in this, for by so doing you will save both yourself and your hearers.” I Tim. 4:16 ESV

We believe in ONE God – Father, Son (the Word) and Holy Spirit, the Creator of all things ( I John 5:7).

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, was crucified, died, was buried, was resurrected, ascended into heaven, and is now seated at the right hand of God the Father and is true God and true man (Matthew 1:20-21, John 3:16, John 14:6, Acts 4:10, 1 Timothy 3:16, Hebrews 10:12).

We believe the Bible in its entirety to be the inspired Word of God and the infallible rule of faith and conduct (2 Timothy 3:16, I Thess. 2:13).

We believe in the personal salvation of believers through the shed blood of Jesus Christ (Ephesians 3:17, John 3:1-5, 2 Cor. 5:17, Matthew 16:25).

We believe in sanctification through the Word of God and by the Holy Spirit, and we believe in personal holiness shown by purity of heart and life (Hebrews 12:14).

We believe in the moral parameters outlined in God’s Word, that a marriage is between one man and one woman, and that any sexual activity outside of this divinely ordained institution is sin, something intolerable and unacceptable to a true believer (Genesis 2:24, Galatians 5:19, Ephesians 5:3, 1 Timothy 3:2, 12).

We believe in divine healing, through faith in the Name of Jesus Christ, and that healing is included in the Redemption (James 5:15, 1 Peter 2:24).

We believe in the initial salvation experience of being “born again” (John. 3:3-6).

We believe in the Baptism in the Holy Spirit as distinct from the New Birth (Acts 1:8; 19:1-7, Ephesians 5:18, Luke 11:13).

We believe in the gifts of the Spirit and speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives utterance (Acts 2:4, 1 Corinthians 12:7-11).

We believe in the evidence of the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23).

We believe that all of these are available to believers today.

We believe in the Christian’s hope, the soon coming, personal and bodily return of the Lord Jesus Christ and that this will happen at “the last day”: the very end of this age (John 6:39).

We believe in the return of the Lord, and that coincidental with His return, the dead “in Christ” will rise first, then the living believers will be “caught up to meet the Lord in the air” as we receive our glorified bodies. At that grand and glorious moment, we, the true church, the bride of Christ, will usher the King of kings into this world victoriously. The Messiah Yeshua (Jesus) will then reign from Jerusalem, and we will reign with Him over a restored paradise world (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, Revelation 20:1-6).

Finally, we believe the following maxim: “In essentials, unity, in non-essentials, liberty, and in all things, charity!”

1. In essential beliefs, we have unity.

“There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.” Ephesians 4:4-6 NKJV

2. In non-essential beliefs, we have liberty.

“Receive one who is weak in the faith, but not to disputes over doubtful things.

Who are you to judge another’s servant? To his own master he stands or falls. Indeed, he will be made to stand, for God is able to make him stand.

So then each of us shall give account of himself to God.

Do you have faith? Have it to yourself before God. Happy is he who does not condemn himself in what he approves.” Romans 14:1, 4, 12, 22

3. In all our beliefs, we show charity.

“And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.” I Cor. 13:2
